About

umass cvipWelcome to TechCast at UMass, the podcast of the Office of Commercial Ventures and Intellectual Property - or CVIP - at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. CVIP facilitates partnerships that transform University research into commercially viable ventures. Through interviews with UMass Amherst researchers, industry partners and sponsors our podcast series offers an in-depth look at how CVIP is transferring technology to the private sector, and how investments in research yield new discoveries and economic opportunities that benefit society.

TechCast at UMass is produced under the direction of the Office of News and Information at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in conjunction with the Office of Commercial Ventures and Intellectual Property (CVIP). The program host is Francesca Rheannon, an award-winning producer whose work has been heard on National Public Radio, including WFCR in Amherst. This podcast is supported by a generous gift from UMass Amherst alumnus, Lewis J. Geffen. Our music was performed by the Mass Marimba band under the direction of Thomas Hannum at the University of Massachusetts Department of Music.
